A dead shark was found washed up on Sydney’s Bondi Beach at around 8am on Saturday morning, leaving beach goers completely stunned.

The three-metre shark was first seen by Chris Selby, who saw it while he was out surfing.

He told 9 News he was shocked to see the silhouette of the shark beneath him:

“We thought it was better to get it out.”

Adding it was an “amazing” sight to come across:

“It was amazing. You don’t see this at Bondi often.”

Many took to social media to share their surprise in the sighting.

Lifeguards quickly moved the dead mako shark onto the back of a quad bike.

The shark was reportedly found with a hook in it and it’s believed a fisherman may have tried to catch it, but struggled with its 200kg weight.
